as Little Negative we've sent scattered and meaningful letters to over 750 digital inboxes. the response to our email list has been very special, but physically putting pen to paper has been even more inspiring...
so i’m excited to introduce the Little Negative Letter Club. a monthly letter, delivered to our subscribers' physical mailboxes. Letter Club is all about showcasing the creativity of our entire community, not just musings from my notebook. a way to encourage well-being, focus, and imagination. snail mail is back.
about Little Negative Letter Club
once a month you'll receive a featured letter in the mail spotlighting the words from a fellow member of the Little Negative Letter Club, offering a glimpse into someone else's world and fostering a sense of camaraderie. sharing life stories, artwork, and ideas through these letters, members are hopefully able to decompress and express themselves at a slower pace. this unique exchange not only allows us to practice the age-old art of journaling but also presents a new (old) way to be social in today's digital space. whether you love to write, seek creative community, or just want to experience the joy of receiving letters in the mail... all are welcome.
Little Negative Letter Club hosts occasional special guests! notes from musicians, songwriters, artists, and photographers. their letter could consist of lyrics or a short story. possibly a confession or painting tip. special guests will be announced ahead of the upcoming cycle. their letters are mailed as part of your subscription.
we're stoked to launch this club in its current form, and have a few additions to add along the way.
what do i get if i join?
once you join the club, you'll be given the address to the Little Negative Letter Club. you are encouraged (but never required) to write to us. mail us your art! send your song lyrics, a poem, a short fiction, a life lesson, travel tips... anything that you want to express or toss away. your note will be celebrated and your vulnerability protected. every month one of these community letters will be selected (identities are kept anonymous), printed, and sent to subscribers' mailboxes... so we can all tear open a letter and take in the stories and creativity of the Letter Club community.
you receive:
1x Little Letter sent via snail mail every month. the letters are printed on natural flecked 70lb 8.5x11" paper and are 100% recycled. they are made using renewable electricity generated by an on-site, emissions-free hydroelectric plant, certified to FSC® standards, and are processed chlorine-free in the USA. the letters are folded to fit in 3x5" natural kraft envelopes.
1x postage stamp. send a letter back to our address (or keep it!)

access to the Member Blog where we share creative prompts to inspire writing. you don't have to follow any prompt to be a featured Letter, but we will always support time for a brain dump.

Little Negative is a studio started by music photographer brit o'brien. brit has always focused on documenting life not for immediate consumption...but rather to preserve nostalgia for the long term. brit has been touring with bands for ten years and has captured life in the back of vans, within gas stations, arenas, planes, and overseas. she has published multiple photography books/zines, was the grand prize winner of Circadian Pictures Creative Fund 2020, and has been running a music-focused print store for the last five years surpassing $9,000 in charitable donations. outside of photography, brit works as an artist and tour manager — learning the ebb and flow of business within the music industry. frustrated with the destructive cycle of modern social media she hopes to savor and share the unique experience of life from a slower perspective.
